Covid Safety

Staying Safe at Bucks Academy of Music Ltd 2022
*event (1-1 lesson, class, course, group, masterclass etc)

We appreciate that there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding live music classes, 1-1 lessons, courses and masterclasses. With this in mind, we have created a series of music classes with a smaller number of places available this year to ensure that the requirements of current social distancing guidelines can be fulfilled.

** Lateral Flow Tests - We ask that you please do a lateral flow test before attending any 'Classical Chat' Classes. Likewise, the founders of Bucks Academy of Music Ltd will also undertake regular lateral flow tests each week, including a LFT 1-2 hours prior to the class.

We kindly ask that you DO NOT attend our classes if you or are unwell, have any infectious/contagious diseases or have any suspected symptoms of coronavirus. Many Thanks**

Bucks Academy of Music Ltd would recommend you follow all information and advice provided by the Government and the NHS. Please check this page for regular updates as we continue to monitor the situation closely.

Here are some of the measures we have put in place to keep everyone safe at Bucks Academy of Music Ltd. We continue to review our procedures in line with updated guidelines set by the Department for Education and Public Health England.

  1. Smaller Group Sizes / Larger venue room - We have limited the number of music class places available for courses/groups etc to ensure that the requirements of current social distancing guidelines can be fulfilled, providing a safer environment for performers and participants alike.

  2. Covid Safety - In the interest of covid safety / NHS track and trace, we cannot permit your friend, or any other person to attend with their child in place of yourself as we need to keep a track of numbers both capacity wise and for obvious covid-safety reasons.

  3. Social Distancing – Bucks Academy of Music Ltd will equally space participants out rooms/venues and windows will be opened to allow a constant flow of fresh air. During demonstrations, we will make sure that there is a safe distance between performers and all participants.

  4. Vaccinations / Lateral Flow Tests - We ask that you please do a lateral flow test before attending any 'Classical Chat' Classes. Likewise, the founders of Bucks Academy of Music Ltd will also undertake regular lateral flow tests each week, including one a LFT 1-2 hours prior to the class.

  5. We kindly ask that you DO NOT attend our classes if you or are unwell, have any infectious/contagious diseases or have any suspected symptoms of coronavirus: your household has a high temperature, a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste, a runny nose or sneezing or a new and continuous cough – even if it’s mild (as per NHS/Government guidelines). If an attendee or member of staff displays symptoms of the virus during the class, they must go home immediately.

If you are not sure whether you are well enough to attend, please seek professional medical advice from a GP etc prior to attending a class, as the staff at Bucks Academy of Music Ltd are not medically qualified to make this assessment.

  6. Sanitisation - Attendees be asked to sanitise their hands-on entry to the class venue.
Essential measures included in the system of covid-19 safety controls include:
    - Robust hand and respiratory hygiene – promotion of the ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’ approach.
    - Enhanced cleaning arrangements. We will also provide hand sanitiser on entry/around the venue as well as hand sanitiser wipes and necessary cleaning products. Surfaces will be wiped down before and after each class including surfaces, door handles etc.
    - A requirement that participants or organisers who are ill, stay at home.

  7. Isolation Protocols - If a participant or teacher develops Coronavirus before the class/lesson/event begins, they will not be able to attend until they have met self-isolation requirements or received a negative test result. Please notify us immediately if you have attended a class and then had a positive test result for Covid-19 as we have a duty to then inform attendees from the same class and customer contact details may be made available to the NHS track and trace central database if required by law.  We will ask you to specify contact details on our bookings form (or NHS track and trace purposes). We cannot permit your friend or any other person to attend with their child in place of you.

  8. Definition of a close contact:
    - Face-to-face contact including being coughed on or having a face-to-face conversation within one metre
    - Been within one metre for one minute or longer without face-to-face contact
    - Been within 2 metres of someone for more than 15 minutes
(either as a one-off contact or added up together over one day)
    - Travelled in the same vehicle or plane.

  9. Covid Safe Environment Disclaimer: Bucks Academy of Music Ltd (in line with government guidelines) have put in covid safety protocols in an effort to make the environment as 'covid-safe' as possible for live sessions. Whilst we aim to eliminate as many elements of risk as possible, we cannot guarantee a 100% risk-free environment. Attendees participating in events held by Bucks Academy of Music Ltd,  “social distancing” must be practised and face coverings are worn where possible to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. Bucks Academy of Music Ltd has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  However, Bucks Academy of Music Ltd attendees choose to attend at their own risk and must be prepared to accept any and all risks associated with and potentially resulting from participation.

We are required by the government to provide every customer or visitor’s (over the age of 16) name and contact details to NHS Test and Trace if requested. We will display an official NHS QR code poster so that customers and visitors can ‘check in’ using our official NHS QR Code poster or alternatively, participants can check in with the NHS COVID-19 app. We will also hold details from the booking form should they be needed for NHS track and trace.
